The Bau Family Award (鮑氏獎) in Inorganic Chemistry

The Bau Family Award (鮑氏獎) in Inorganic Chemistry was established in 2008 by the late Prof. Robert Bau (鮑道鈞), an international figure known for his pioneering studies on the chemistry of transition-metal hydride complexes, for presentation at biennial joint International Symposia for Chinese Organic Chemists (ISCOC) and Chinese Inorganic Chemists (ISCIC).

The award (US$2,000 and a plaque) will be given to a young inorganic chemist (under the age of 45 and required to deliver a lecture at the award ceremony) in recognition of his/her outstanding achievements. The inaugural award ceremony was held at the ISCOC-10/ISCIC-7 in Shanghai, where Prof. Bau personally handed the award to the winner only a few months before he passed away. The second Bau Family Award was presented at the ISCOC-11/ISCIC-8 in Taipei, the third one at the ISCOC-12/ISCIC-9 in Lanzhou, the fourth one at the ISCOC-13/ISCIC-10 in Xiamen, the fifth one at the ISCOC-14/ISCIC-11 in Singapore, and the sixth one at the ISCOC-15/ISCIC-12 in Taipei.
