Chien-Hong Cheng received his Ph.D. from University of Rochester with Prof. Richard Eisenberg.  After postdoctoral work in the same laboratory, he joined the Department of Chemistry at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU).  Professor Cheng served as the Director General of the Department of Natural Sciences, National Science Council, the President, Chemical Society Located in Taipei (2011~12) and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs of NTHU (2010~2014). In 2009, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and in 2018, he became an Academician, Academia Sinica. He is currently a Chair Professor of NTHU. His research interests include transition metal-catalyzed organic reactions and organic materials in optoelectronics.
